Celebration of Scouting

Scouts at the Cathedral for 2015  "Celebration of Scouting!"

Scouts from around the Oakland Diocese gathered at the Cathedral of Christ the Light, on Saturday, January 31, for the annual "Celebration of Scouting.". The "Celebration" included a prayer service, awarding of Catholic Scout Religious Awards, and a special blessing of Scouts and Scout leaders by diocesan Scout Chaplain, Father Neal Clemens.

The theme of this years' Celebration was "God Is Our Motivator" and Father Clemens reminded the scouts of how God motives them in their lives as scouts and as Catholic followers of Jesus.

What is the Celebration of Scouting?

The annual "Celebration of Scouting" is a prayer service honoring all scouts and their leaders in the Oakland Diocese. Religious awards earned during the year are presented at the Celebration. Scout groups are invited to process into the Cathedral with their banner or flag.
