CYO Track Season Featured  Challenging Events

The photo above is of a recent 7th grade boys 100 meter race at a preliminary meet in Mission Valley Track Section 3, with three of their fastest runners! According to coach Frank Knafelc, "They finished the 100 meter within a tenth of a tenth of a second of each other. The Holy Spirit runner (Red) won the race by sticking his chest out.  The Saint Joseph runner (Yellow) placed second and the Saint Anne runner (Yellow and Black) was third.  The picture was taken around 10 meters from the finish. What a race!"

Mission Valley Track Section 3 Awards Annual Scholarship to 8th Grade Assumption Runner

Mission Valley CYO Track Section 3 has been presented their annual MV3 Scholarship Award to Michelle Ohwobete from Assumption CYO Track, San Leandro.  The award was not based on ability but on understanding and living Christian values through sports. She was described as "a very exhuberent, funny and articulate young lady." Pictured above (l-r) are Muriel Irwin (Section Coordinator); Michelle; Adonica Powell (Assumption Track Coordinator) and Melanie Jone (Section Coordinator). Congratulations to this fine young athlete!
