Department of Financial Services

Director of Financial Services carries primary responsibility for management of diocesan financial operations. Working collaboratively, the director leads the budgeting process for the diocesan Central Services, recommending to both the Bishop, the Bishop’s Administrative Council and the Finance Council. The director also manages and reports the annual audit.

The director assists the Vicar for Temporalities by providing financial information as directed and by providing staff support to the boards and committees, which the Vicar leads or in which he participates. He staffs the Diocesan Finance Council, assisting its President (the Vicar of Temporalities) with the preparation of agenda and providing the council the information it needs to exercise its role of advice and counsel to the Bishop. The director also staffs the committees under the Finance Council: Investment, Insurance & Benefits, Lay Retirement and Clergy Retirement.

The Director of Financial Services provides supervision to the directors of the Accounting, Facilities Planning and Services and Insurance and Benefits offices of the Financial Services Department, and, as appropriate, works with or through them in accomplishing their responsibilities.
