Office of The Bishop

The Office of the Bishop was established in 1994 as a part of the reorganization of the administrative function of the diocese. The major role of this office is to support and coordinate the Bishop's relations with internal and external groups: to support his relationship with diocesan clergy, the Holy See, the California Catholic Conference, the U.S. Catholic Conference, other national/international Church groups and consultative bodies; and to support the Bishop as a leader in the civic, ecumenical, and business communities. Improving support and coordination of the Bishop's role in these diverse communities has been a major accomplishment during the short history of this department.

In addition to this role, the Director of the Office of the Bishop also supervises the Episcopal Master of Ceremonies and matters connected with Episcopal Liturgies.
