Hunger for Change: A Faithful Response to Food Insecurity
Come for a free first session on March 23!
Interfaith groups are co-facilitated by one or two participants
Hunger for Change consists of 8 sessions, lasting 2.5 hours each. All sessions include prayer, dialogue, active listening, and relationship building. Some sessions may include videos and/or a guest speaker. To broaden perspectives, Hunger for Change includes an immersion. Participants visit local organizations to learn from those involved with the issue.
Participants deepen their understanding through in-depth reading and viewing videos and online materials. The most essential resource is the community formed through the process.
JustFaith Ministries recommends that a group be approximately eight to fifteen people.
We encourage all congregations involved with Food Pantry, Mercy Brown Bag, St. Vincent de Paul and other food distribution services to learn more about advocacy for those we serve!
Materials (book Rich Christians In an Age of Hunger by Ronald J. Sider) cost $15.
The cost for the program is a sliding-scale donation: $5 - $20. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
