January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month
January is National Human Trafficking Awareness Month. Human Trafficking is modern-day slavery.
Each week during the month of January, the Diocese of Oakland will focus on one particular aspect of human trafficking. The Diocese of Oakland in partnership with the Diocese of San Jose has prepared weekly bulletin announcements and sample intercessions for use in your parishes, schools, and groups. On the eve of historic May 1st mobilizations, we invite you to gather for prayer, song, faithful witness, and commitment. Sponsored by Interfaith Coalition for Immigrant Rights (CLUE-CA), Interfaith Committee for Worker Justice-East Bay (ICWJ), Oakland Community Organization (OCO), Contra Costa Interfaith Community Organization (CCISCO) & Diocese of Oakland – Office of Life and Justice.
