St. John Vianney, Walnut Creek / Newman Hall, Berkeley

Participants in the 2006-2008 class meet Saturdays once per month at either St. John Vianney in Walnut Creek (map) or Newman Hall in Berkeley (map).

Homework and make-up assignments for each class are available below. The make-up assignments also make great review questions for the assigned reading.

Attendance Policy

The attendance policy for certification allows no more than two absences per course-year (October through April) with a total of three absences allowed overall. Students who are interested in certification at the completion of the course must complete and turn in the specified make up work for all classed missed (see links above).

Make up work may be handed to the instructor at the following class or emailed to Melissa Hyatt at mhyatt@oakdiocese.org.

Exit Requirement

Requirements for the Exit Presentation
The exit requirement presentation includes written and oral components. The presentation is required for students interested in receiving the California Catechist Certificate at the conclusion of the course.

The exit presentations will take place on the following dates. To sign up for a time slot during which to present, please call Melissa Hyatt at 510-267-8370.

Classes are held in the Faith Formation Center, adjacent to the office. Parking available. Campus Map

Newman Hall, Berkeley
Parking is available in the lot across from the church. Classes are usually held upstairs; if the main doors are locked, use the staircase in front of the building.
