Pastoral Theology of Marriage and Family

Holy Family

Who should attend?

This intensive 10-session course is open to students from any background with an interest in deepening their understanding of the Church's pastoral theology in the areas of marriage and family life. Current students and graduates of the School for Pastoral Ministry and the Serra Catechetical Institute, catechists, Master Catechists, pastoral staff and all adult Catholics interested in ongoing formation are encouraged to attend.

Students may attend individual sessions or the entire course. Class sessions are held on Saturday mornings and afternoons and Monday and Wednesday evenings (see dates) in the conference room at Santa Maria Catholic Church in Orinda.

Course Instructor

Rev. Linus Clovis, Ph.D., JCL, is a priest of the Diocese of Castries in St. Lucia. He studied for the priesthood at the Angelicum in Rome and was ordained by Pope John Paul II in 1983. He holds degrees Theology, Canon Law, Latin Literature and a doctorate in Mathematics. Fr. Clovis was appointed Dean of the science faculty of Sir Arthur Lewis College and later became principal of St. Mary’s College in St. Lucia. He is an internationally renowned speaker on many topics, including marriage and family life.

Course fee is $10 per session or $90 for all ten sessions. No charge for current students or graduates of the School for Pastoral Ministry or the Serra Catechetical Institute. Course materials may be downloaded or purchased from the websites above or purchased at class.
