The 2009 National Catholic Youth Conference will bring together over 23,000 high school-aged Catholic youth for three days of speakers, catechetical sessions, music, prayer, liturgy, and fun! We hope to bring a large delegation from the Diocese of Oakland to Kansas City for NCYC. The Church in Oakland needs youth and young adult leaders to direct other young people to the face of Christ. You are the future of the Church—you are the Church
now! I encourage you to prayerfully consider attending.
Expected cost is $1200 per person and includes airfare, ground transportation, hotel, t-shirt, most meals, and conference registration. We will depart on Wednesday, November 18 and return on Sunday, November 21. Please visit the diocesan website for complete registration information, including forms, waivers, deadlines, and payment information. Plan ahead as some forms must be notarized.
In July and August, the Diocese will host workshops at the Cathedral of Christ the Light for those who are registered to attend NCYC. These workshops will help participants prepare for NCYC practically and spiritually. Don’t miss these great opportunities to open your heart to Christ’s presence at NCYC and connect with one another before the big event. See you there!
