Serra Catechetical Institute

The Serra Catechetical Institute (SCI) is a two-year process of formation for catechists, Catholic school teachers, parents and all adults. Classes for the 2006-2008 session meet monthly on Saturdays.

Classes in English and Spanish. SCI satisfies the formation requirement for the Diocese of Oakland's California Catechist Certificate. Registration for the 2007-2009 classes (Thursday evenings twice monthly) will be available in September.

School for Pastoral Ministry

The School is a three year process of formation in lay ministry that includes study of the Catholic faith and development of practical ministerial skills. Individual and couples interested in exploring their call to ministry, lay ministers seeking to increase their knowledge of the Faith and pastoral skills, catechists and Catholic school teachers, and men interested in the permanent diaconate are all encouraged to apply. Applications are accepted September 1 - December 15.
