A Support Group For Survivors of Clergy Sexual Abuse
Clergy sexual abuse has a devastating
impact on individuals and families causing psychological, spiritual and
physical harm. In an effort to help victim/survivors in their healing from
this painful experience, the Diocese of Oakland through the Outreach
Ministry to survivors of clergy sexual abuse offers support groups to adult
survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
No More Secrets Support Group
is a mutual help support
group providing an opportunity for personal sharing, prayerful reflection
and spiritual renewal.
- Monthly groups are guided by a therapist with pastoral and clinical
expertise
- Focus is mutual support rather than therapy
- Confidential meetings are open ended; new participants are welcome
at any time
- Information on community resources for domestic and sexual violence
as well as on referrals to local mental health professionals is
available
- Spouses and family members are welcome to participate
When: The first
Saturday of the every month – unless the day falls on a legal holiday
