cyo tournaments

• Tournament Play in CYO is a fun way for your CYO basketball team or girls' CYO volleyball team to play other teams from around the diocese, during times set aside for tournament play. 
• CYO-Sanctioned Tournaments are sponsored by our Catholic parishes, Catholic schools and Catholic high schools. Only CYO teams may participate in CYO sanctioned tournaments. Only CYO sanctioned tournaments are listed on this page. Want to sponsor a tournament?  See tournament registration form, below.
• Tournament Information on CYO Sanctioned Tournaments will be posted on this page when the information is received. Tournament information is provided as a service to our CYO teams and is only accurate as provided to CYO.
• Playoff Information will be posted under your respective sport on the main CYO webpage.

Tournament Rules for CYO teams include:
(Applies to both CYO sanctioned and non-CYO tournaments)

• CYO Basketball teams may not play for than one game in a day.
• League games take priority over tournament games.
• No tournament games may be scheduled or played before Noon on Sundays. Tournament games must be scheduled to be completed by 10:00 p.m. on school nights
• No tournament may last longer than three weeks.

Tournament Limitations:

1. Each team may participate in only four (4) tournaments per season
2. Included in this total for four, each team may participate in only two (2) non-CYO sanctioned tournaments per season.
3. Any team must receive permission from the CYO Office to participate in a tournament outside of the Diocese of Oakland or the Bay Area
4. League or Diocesan Playoffs shall not be considered a tournament.
