You are invited to participate in The Sanctuary Course for Catholics, an educational program being offered by St. Columba Health Cabinet’s Mental Health Ministry. The program is open to anyone interested in learning about mental health and promoting the Kingdom of God to all.

The Sanctuary Course for Catholics is an 8-part course designed to raise awareness and start a conversation in our parish regarding mental health. It was created in collaboration with Catholic
mental health professionals, theologians, and clergy, and offers faith communities the opportunity to learn about mental health and grow in their ability to support members living
with such challenges.

Topics covered include:

  1. INTRODUCTION (9/13/25)
  2. MENTAL HEALTH (9/20/25)
  3. MENTAL ILLNESS (10/4/25)
  4. STIGMA (10/11/25)
  5. RECOVERY (10/28/25)
  6. COMPANIONSHIP (11/01/25)
  7. SELF-CARE (11/15/25)
  8. THE CHURCH (11/22/25)

The sessions are accompanied by compelling videos that feature the stories of Catholics living with mental health challenges.

Course sessions will start on Sat., Sept.13 at 9:00 am in the Parish Hall; each session will last approximately 2 hours. You are welcomed to attend any or all 8 sessions.
