Mission
To provide tuition assistance that enables diverse low-income children to attend Catholic schools and help families break the cycle of poverty by supporting access to quality Catholic education in the Contra Costa and Alameda Counties in the Diocese of Oakland.
Vision
By partnering with our generous supporters to award scholarships to deserving families, we are providing students of today the opportunity to rise above their economic challenges. The investment will inspire the next generation of active and engaged community leaders of tomorrow.
Values
We support the rigors of academic excellence and believe the faith formation opportunities available through a Catholic education celebrate the values of faith, respect, hard work, and self-worth.
Who We Serve
FACE provides partial tuition scholarships to low-income families throughout the counties of Alameda and Contra Costa within the Diocese of Oakland. Our student population is derived from a wide range of diverse cultures. All hold a common desire for a rigorous, safe, and holistic, educational experience. Supported by FACE, our students excel academically and develop strong character deep in faith with a commitment to serve and carry out their civic duty throughout the Catholic community and beyond.
History
Founded in 1978 with the promise that a Catholic education should be accessible to all, a group of visionary founders established Family Aid - Catholic Education. Since then, FACE has awarded countless scholarships to families in the Diocese of Oakland to provide their children with a faith-based, academically rigorous education that leads to a lifetime of learning, faith, service, and success.

Have Questions?
Federal and state laws on income and inheritance taxes encourage charitable giving. It may be particularly advantageous for some people to contribute stocks, appreciated securities, annuities, property or other valuables. Or, traditional giving through personal check or electronic transfer may be best. Some may have the option of applying for a matching gift. In many cases, the tax savings may be more than your original investment in the gift. Because each situation is unique, we urge you to discuss such donations with a financial advisor.
Securities and mutual funds that have appreciated in value and have been held for more than one year are highly regarded assets for making a gift to the Diocese of Oakland. Contributing securities or mutual funds not only supports our mission but also provides significant benefits to the donor. By donating appreciated securities or mutual funds, individual donors can potentially reduce or eliminate federal capital gains taxes on the transfer. Additionally, donors may qualify for a federal income tax charitable deduction based on the fair market value of the securities at the time of the donation. As always, please consult your personal advisors before acting on this information.
