After the Choice Overview

After the Choice Ministry (ATC) is a post-abortion healing ministry for any person who has struggled with the emotional or spiritual pain of an abortion.

After the Choice Ministry is a program in the Diocese of Oakland's Respect Life branch of the Office for Life and Justice. The ministry collaborates with the Diocese of Stockton and the Diocese of Santa Rosa to offer a range of programs and services for men and women in need of healing.

ATC provides the following services:

  • 1-888-HOPE-790 Hotline. This hotline is posted in the diocesan directory, and printed cards are also available for clergy and lay leaders. Those wanting to call the hotline can also call 510-485-2574.
  • Rachel's Vineyard Retreat Weekends. Rachel's Vineyard is a national post-abortion healing ministry that provides powerful weekend retreats. The Diocese of Oakland sponsors 2 Rachel's Vineyard retreats in English and two in Spanish each year.
  • Scripture Study and Healing Groups. The Diocese of Oakland offers free 8-week interdenominational scripture study and healing groups in both English and Spanish.
