May 31, 2023 Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary
To All the Faithful of the Diocese of Oakland,
Our Diocesan Eucharistic Revival Congress is fast approaching.
One of the four (4) pre-events leading to our September weekends is the 33-Day Preparation for Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary using the Saint Louis de Montfort method. This will be offered in both English and Spanish and will include both adults and children.
This devotion is the easiest, shortest and most perfect way of approaching Jesus, because by this devotion, we give to God through the hands of Mary all our good works. She purifies, beautifies and makes them acceptable to Her Son. Mary will bring us to the Holy Eucharist!
The 33-Day preparation for adults involves fifteen (15) minutes a day of prayer and meditation, and one (1) hour per week of watching a related video. Prayers begin July 20.
The children’s preparation is for seventeen (17) days and includes five (5) minutes of prayer and meditation, and a short video each day. Prayers begin August 5.
The Total Consecration Day for both children and adults is on August 22, the Feast of the Queenship of Mary, at the Cathedral of Christ the Light. Imagine how powerful this day will be where thousands of us in the Diocese are consecrating the same day!
Bishop Michael Barber, SJ encourages all the churches and schools in the Diocese to participate in this 33-Day of Preparation for Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary.
Register now and receive email instructions, daily prayers and video links. For more information, visit consecrationgroup.org, and click on the “Oakland Diocese” button.
At Fatima, our Lady said she will never abandon us. Her Immaculate Heart will be our refuge and the way that will lead us to God.
Sincerely yours in Christ, Father John Erick Villa Executive Director, 2023 Diocesan Eucharistic Revival Congress
