Girls' CYO Basketball Season Concludes with an Exciting Return to Playoffs

Girls' CYO Basketball season for the western half of the diocese concluded with the first basketball playoffs in two years! 
The season included teams in the 3rd through 8th grades in the Southern Alameda County Girls' CYO League and the East Bay Parochial League. Sixty-two teams from nineteen parishes and Catholic schools participated during the season as CYO continued to reopen as the pandemic eased.
Ten leading teams from each league met in the weekend playoffs in May at St. Joseph Gym, Alameda, and at Holy Spirit Parish Center Gym, Fremont. Champions crowned were St. John's, San Lorenzo, in the 8th grade, All Saints, Hayward, in the 7tg grades and St. Joachim, Hayward, in the 6th grade.  Our Lady of Guadalupe teams were runners-up in all three grades.
