The Most Rev. Michael C. Barber, S.J., Bishop of Oakland, has made the following appointments:

Rev. Jimmy Macalinao as Director of the Office of the Permanent Deaconate and Permanent Deacon Formation, effective Oct. 12, 2025

Rev. Benjamin Mac Lingo as Hospital Chaplain of the Fremont Area Hospitals, effective Oct. 15, 2025

Rev. Benjamin Mac Lingo as Parochial Vicar, St. Bede Parish, Hayward, effective Jan. 1, 2026

Bishop Barber has approved the appointments by the provincials of the following men:

Fr. John Raymond (Jack) Lau, OMI as parochial administrator of Sacred Heart Parish, Oakland, effective September 2025

Fr. Carlos Alarcon, OMI as part-time parochial vicar of Sacred Heart Parish, Oakland, effective September 2025

Fr. Simon Mbuthi, O.F.M. Cap, as pastor of St. Jarlath Parish, Oakland, effective October 2025

Fr. Michael Ronayne, O.F.M. Cap, as associate pastor of St. Jarlath Parish, Oakland, effective November 2025
