The following holidays are the minimum required for Parish employees. Pastors may add additional holidays at their discretion.
New Year’s Day (January 1)
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (January 18)
Presidents’ Day (February 15)
Memorial Day (May 31)
Independence Day observed (July 5)
Labor Day (September 6)
Veteran’s Day (November 11)
Thanksgiving (November 25)
Day after Thanksgiving (November 26)
Christmas (December 25)
New Year’s Eve (December 31)
Because of the religious nature of the day, parish offices are closed from at least noon on Good Friday (April 2)
When a federal holiday (all but the Day after Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve above) falls on a weekend, the holiday observance will be moved to either the Friday preceding the holiday (if the holiday falls on a Saturday) or the Monday following the holiday (if the holiday falls on a Sunday).
Observance of the minimum holidays is not transferable to a different date without incurring double time pay for non-exempt employees.
