Would you like to help your scout or the scouts in your unit earn their religious awards? There are Catholic religious awards available for all ages of scouts, girls and boys. Counselor Training is scheduled each September. If you missed the training, email CYOabout how to qualify as a religious awards counselor.
Religious awards are offered to scouts of all ages! In earning the awards, scouts explore their faith in relationship to church, family and friends in a scout context. After completing the award, the scout is awarded the medal at a special ceremony at the Diocesan "Celebration of Scouting" or in their local parish.
Awards are earned by completing projects outlined in awards books available for each award by working with the Scout's own family or through a religious awards counselor.
Help your scouts learn about their faith while having fun earning their Religious Awards. Scouts around the diocese will earn their Religious Awards this year with the guidance of adult counselors. Counselors will be trained at the annual Religious Awards Counselor Training.
The annual Scout Religious Awards Counselor Training was in September. If you still would like to counsel religious awards for scouts, please contact CYO at bford@oakdiocese.org.
There is a new way to offer the Ad Altare Dei Award for older scouts - on line! To counsel this award, counselors must attend a special workshop. Click Here For information on e-AAD Award Counselor Training
