With deep concern for the suffering in the home dioceses in Vietnam and the Philippines of many of our clergy, Bishop Michael C. Barber asks all parishes to consider a voluntary second collection before Feb. 1, 2026 to aid typhoon disaster relief in Vietnam and the Philippines. Checks may be sent to Attila Bardos, CFO, clearly marked. One check will be sent from our diocese to Catholic Relief Services for this specific need. This is at the discretion of each pastor, and is not required. Checks should be addressed to “Roman Catholic Bishop of Oakland” with notation: “Vietnam/Philippines Typhoon Disaster relief” and sent to Diocesan Finance Department no later than Friday, Feb. 6.
